afford her any relief and if so to inform her how to proceed to get the costody of her child.

Also Casey Davis a freed woman who formerly belong to Mitchell Davis who was driven with six children from his house ranging from twelve years old down after the apprentice law of the last legislature was passed Mitchell Davis had the two oldest bound to him leaving Casey with the four helpless children to shift for herself. The probability is as soon as she raises the others to be of Service he will have them bound and taken away from their mother if such a proceeding is tolerated we had better sell the whole back into bondage these are hard cases and the Probate Judge is willing to do any thing you instruct in the matter. These parties are unable to defend their rights against men of wealth and influence they are subject to the decision of one man and if he says their children shall be taken and bound to an other they have no remedy they are not able to give bond to have their cases adjudicated in the supreme court give instruction as to these two cases I take this method as the atty for these freed woman
