Your telegrams of today are received. I have sent a military escort for Malone which I suppose has reached Montgomery this evening. 

It was a mistake of the marshal of the city that no warrant was taken by the guard

Col. Arthur will explain to you my action in the case and give you the particulars of the affray & subsequent shooting of Private Robinson

The city Marshal will send the warrant by express.
