Warren went to Jones house and brought away his children without difficulty.

Troy, Pike Co. Ala.
Feb 27th 1867

Mr. O. D. Kinsman Supt Col &c

Dear Sir:
I have examined the case presented by your letter of the 20th inst. in relation to the children of Richard Warren. There is no evidence in my Court that the children named, of said Richard, have ever been bound to Mr. Jones - and therefore no reason why said Richard cannot get the legal custody by making the proper demand for them.
Very Respectfully
D.W. Siler
Judge of Probate
Pike Co. Ala

P.S. Dr. Worthy was consulted by me, & he thinks there will be no obstacle presented to the man Richard, if he should make the demand for the children.
