3rd  To the charge against me for lost time and expenses to Montgomery, I hold that it is a demand both unreasonable and unjust, and that could not be sustained by law, and that I cannot be held accountable for travelling expenses when a three cent postage stamp would have accomplished the object. 4th  To the claim for cotton seed I would say that the subject was never mentioned. At the time the cotton was ginned the plantation had been sold and was in the possession of the purchaser, and their seed with mine were left at the Gin House.
