Acknowledges receipt of the A.A.A. Gen'l letter of the 2d inst. in reference to the transfer of Mr Webb an Agent of the Bureau, to Mobile to act as Supt of schools.  States that he has no knowledge of Mr Webb. and thinks that it would be better and more satisfactory to the Freedmen to send Dr Gray who he knows to be a good man.
