General,
I have the honor to state that, on August 2nd/67 an application of Ellen Cole (freedwoman)to obtain possession of her children, in Alabama, was referred to your office, and on Sept 20th/67 a communication from Bvt Maj F Moseback, S.A. Comr Atlanta, Ga, making inquiry in regards to the disposition of the application, was referred in like manner.

No information having been received in regard to the above, I enclose here with a transcript from the records of this office pertaining to this case, with the request that you will cause the matter to be investigated and the children returned to their parents, who are represented as being industrious and steady people and amply able to provide for them.
