Ellen Cole = freedwoman =

Makes application for the recovery of her two children, Mary Ann and Moses, who are living with Jas. Young in Chambers Co. Ala. States that after the death of her master, she was seperated from these two children, that Mr Young bought them and kept them after emancipation. He was notified in November 1865. that the father - Ellen's husband = would come for them the following Christmas, that Young refused to give up the children to him, and threatened him with violence. The children were bound to him in December 1865, after being duly notified by the parents to give them up.
