The undersigned, F. Sulzner, respectfully petitions of the Freedman's Bureau that:
The House and lot situated in the town of Athens Lime Stone County, Ala, now used by part of the Federal Forces under the Colonel Lovell as Commissary, which house & lot were at the opening of the rebellions rented to & occupied by, Mr. John Jackson of said town & county, as a hotel.
Several pressing invitations from relatives of my wife, living south, and the little, if any prospects of supporting my family on or near the frontiers of the seat of war induced me to accept & avail myself of them at the time.
Never having aided or abetted the cause of the ennemy, I pray that restoration of the above property may be made to me Fr. Sulzner
