Columbus, Ga., Dec 16" 1867

Col O D Kinsman
asst Supt RF & AL
Montgomery Ala Sir I beg again most respectfully, to call your attention to my request, and your promise to send an officer whom you can rely upon, to examine into my affairs, and ascertain what is the best course to pursue in order to gather my crop &c, so that the Freedmen can be secured in the wages due them. They the Freedmen are not able to replevy properly, and unless some order is issued to hold the mules wagons&c which the sheriff intends to remove from the place, the crop will have to waste in the fields, as it is impossible without them, to gather, or purchase, the crop for market. If something is not done, I hope you will release me from all responsibility, and obligations to the Freedmen, as I have done all in my power for their protection, and to secure to them the wages justly due them. I am satisfied and order similar to the special orders no 81, and reclaiming the sheriff from responsibility for all hoping release, would remove all applications, and be satisfactory to the sheriff. Please reply to Huntsville Ala.
Very Respct yours
