To all whom it may concern,
This is to certify that I am personally acquainted with William Brewer a Justice of the Peace for this country: That he has always been a good and efficient officer, and I think loyal to the government of the United States. That I have never known him to aid or encourage crime in any shape, but always peaceable and desires to keep peace and harmony in his community: and so far as my knowledge extends has always encouraged others so to do. That I do not believe from my personal knowledge of him, that he would aid, abet or be
accessory to any crime or violation of the laws of the government.
In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed the Seal of the said Court at Office the 30th day of December 1867.
Allen P. Sturdivant
Judge of the County Criminal Court
