Macon Ga Feb 25th 1867

Dear Senator,
You will remember I called on you, at your residence about the 15th of January, as a delegate from Georgia, and was trying to have colored men appointed as lecturers for the South, your was informed by me, that I was a presiding Elder of the African M, E, Church, and traveled very extensively, 
[[Pour?]] Sir, I simply desire to report the truth of two cases to you, out of many that might be reported, 
1st The Opelika case in Lee County Ala, This colored man was named Lebron Williams, and was killed by Bone Griffin, because he refused to work for him, for less than he could get, from others who desired to employ him, Lebe as he was called, was a smart colored man, and liked by every one,
Mrs Vincent the white woman says, she knew nothing of Lebe trying to kill her, After the colored man was killed, The whites refused to let the colored people bury him, and left him to lie on the road side,
