Office [[strikethrough]] Superintendent [[/strikethrough]] Sub. Asst. Com. Bureau R., F. and A. Lands,
Sub. DISTRICT OF MOBILE,
Mobile, Ala. March 16th 1867.

O D. Kinsman
Supt. Bu. R. F & A.L.
Montgomery Ala.

Sir:
I have the honor to state that a considerable amount of corn and bacon (forming part of an invoice from Capt. W. C Arthur, Special Agent B.R.F. & A.L. to Lieut Logan.) has been received. I have received no instructions as to its disposition but have thought it was probably designed for issue to destitutes under the instructions heretofore sent to this office. Will you please write me concerning the matter.
There is also a considerable quantity of bacon turned over by Maj Elderkin. Six hundred pounds of this bacon were taken by Col. Shepherd for the use of troops, and have not yet been replaced to the Bureau. As I was not willing for Lieut. Logan to receipt for bacon not turned over, reverts were given Major Elderkin by Lieut Breffrum Post A.C.S. If it is desirable this quantity should be made up to the Bureau, Liet Breffrum might be instructed to turn over the amount due as he has now bacon on hand
Very Respectfully
