Affidavit of Margrette Mitchel in the matter of State vs R. B. Thomas

This affidavit Margrette Mitchel makes oath and says that about the hour of half past one o' clock on Sunday the 16th inst [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] in the city of Mobile That she was on Government Street, and saw R. B. Thomas sitting in one of the street cars belonging to the Street rail road on that road; that Thomas was alone in his car, that about that time the driver of said car took the horse out or from the car and hitched him at the side of the street; that then was a pretty large crowd of people assembled both white and colored - that the whites were on the north side of the street.
