Mobile, Ala. April 19th 1867
Affidavit of Norfolk Rundsen in the matter of the state by R.B. Thomas. 
Norfolk Rundsen makes oath and says that on the 14th day of this month about the hour of one oclock in the city of Mobile he was on Hamilton Street in this City coming up towards Government Street he saw R.B. Thomas hail the Street Car and get in and saw him deposit the fare in "Box" and seat himself, and the Driver immediately stopped the Car, and that he saw saw said Thomas receive his fare from the Driver of the Car and get out. 
That he asked Thomas "what made him get out of the car and Thomas replied "because I was requested by the Driver to do so and wait for the next car". That he said Thomas waited till the next car came up and hailed the car and stepped in, paid his fare as usual and set down in the car, immediately the Driver stopped the car and requested said Thomas to get out. That Thomas refused and the Driver left the car. That the next Car came up behind and the Driver of the last Car came up and removed the horses of the Car in which Thomas was seated and tied them nearby
