That this officer insisted that the man so pointed out was not the guilty one, that the man Henry arrested him & took him in the guard house:  that he did not in the meantime use any language & incitements to arrouse the colored people to attack. The white people after he had been assaulted & beaten:  That there was much excited feeling among the colored people on account of the outrage commited but that much more excitement & much more abuses & threatening language was used by the white people than by the colored so far as he had heard.
