That the officer who arrested him was one Scott of police force by direction of Alderman McDora, that Alderman McGuin of this city told him to go away & he would not be arrested. That after remaining at the guard house for some time the officers in charge refused him bail. That he offered men as bail who were real estate holders & men of substantial worth; but that after a long delay bail was excepted; that on the following morning he appeared before the Mayor of the city to answer to the charge of Disorderly Conduct & trying to incite a riot. That the results was that he with others were on the following morning thereafter tried before the said Mayor upon the said charges & sentenced
