“Exhibit No 1” “Macon Ga. July 6th 1865 On demand I promise to pay to Anthony David the amount of of sixty Dollars said (60)00 for vouchers in full received” (signed). "Geo. W Johnson" Purveyor at May General Wilson head quarters Exhibit No 2 "Direct your letter following. Geo. W Johnson purveyor at May General Wilsons Headquarters Macon Ga. Writ as soon as possible but on the rite direction." Exhibit No 3 "Davenport Iowa April 30th 1867 - Dear Antony, Your letter of April 10" has just reached me here - I am surprised to hear that Johnson did not pay you but gave you his note instead. You ought to have informed me at the time for I could have compelled him to pay you in money. As the case stands now we have both been swindled, you out of 60 dollars and myself out of 1200. Where Johnson is now I don't know - the last I heard of him he was in Cincinnati Ohio.
