Sir,
Charley Harris, a colored boy was brought into the City Court yesterday for trial for stealing certain silver ware from Mr. W.J. Bibb. He requested me to defend him, and I did so to the best of my ability but he was convicted of Grand Larceny, he having voluntarily confessed to a participation in the theft. But he has been in jail since August last, and has been sick for about six months
