A Bill
To be entitled an act to encourage agriculture by securing laborers in their hire.

Sec 1st  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Alabama in General Assembly convened that hereafter laborers for hire or reward on any farm or plantation in this State who shall have entered into a bona fide contract, reduced to writing, for labor or service connected with such farm or plantation, for a term not less than eight months, shall have a lein on the crop raised on such farm or plantation, during the year, in which such service may be rendered; and which may be in whole or in part the product of such labor or service, provided that nothing in this act shall affect the right of prior liens of land-lords or prior leins for necessary supplies.
