Absence form the city as members G.C.M. until a few days since prevented my receiving your letter of 26" ult. until my return. 
With us and to Mr. John C. Robinson that person has never been to this office. I have made enquiries with regard to him, and find that he has been in the dis. and talked with Mr. Griffin and others and with some of the leading colored people in the same strain as you mention. He does not seem, however, to have impressed them with any confidence in his representations. 
With regard to Dr. Grey, I feel quite certain that there could be no better selection made for the purpose you have suggested. I
