May (so much time was granted by an endorsement on Mr Nettletons copy of the agreement) it should have been inspected at once and accepted if the inspection report was favorable.

If the time had passed, it was at your discretion to accept or not, But as you need supplies, it would seem better to receive even now, all that passes inspection than to subject Mr Nettleton to a heavy loss. In agreeing to deliver supplies, he assumes all risks and pays all expenses of insurance, freights &c. No other parties would offer to deiver "Bulk Meat" at Mobile for the price named in the agreement, if it could be purchased for six cents per lb less in in Mobile, the price there is lower than in New York or Cincinnati.

You will please have the meat inspected by Major Browning at some Office in the service of the United States and if it passes inspection let it be accepted on the best terms that can be agreed upon deliver Maj. Browning and Mr Nettleton.

Very respectfully
Signed E. Whittlesey
