P.S. Allow me to add; that I have had frequent conversations with Judge Harper, and am satisfied of his unconditional loyalty; of his unionism during the war, I know from all the union people in his vicinity, of his friendship for the colored people, I know from the testimony of the freedmen, yet he was unfortunately the conservative candidate for the state senate during the war and consequently can not take the oath.
His son William Harper can take it and the agency can be given in his name, while the judge can do the business. William Harper will do very well to take my place in the school when I leave.

very Respectfully,
E. Whipple
