Sub Aist. Commisr
Dear Sir,
I have the honor to inform you that I have tendered my resignation of the Clerkship at this place, as I received a very acceptable offer from Atalanta Ga. I would respectfully ask you to send a Clerk here to relive me as soon as practicable, my presence in Atlanta is required before the end of the month.
Allow me express my gratefulness for the interest you took in my prosperity when I applied to you for a situation and I trust that your goodwill may accompany further, as I am confident that I have fulfilled my duties in the situation, which I am about to leave, to the best of my knowledge.
I have the honor to remain, Colonel
Very Respectfully
Your obd't serv't
