Dear Sir-

We are Planters in the Oswichee Bend of the Chattahoochee River. There are some half dozen whites of us - to about 750 freedmen - living here -

The disasters of this year force us to curtail our planting operations another year, and we apprehend, from demonstrations already made, much trouble and probable violence upon the part of the freedmen, when they are requested to leave our plantations.

They are already seizing & holding property upon some of the places. They are generally armed - we desire above all things that we may be protected
