Selma, Ala, June 17 1868.

Respectfully returned. The assurance that her husband awaits her at Baltimore, is based on a letter of C. W. Pierce Sub. Asst. Comm'r at Demopolis, the residence of Sarah P. Mills, which she presented at this office; but in consideration of the fact that the woman has since found employment at this place, and does not therefore depend on the Government for support, I think it expedient to withdraw the application for transportation.
