that their Corn Should not be liable for nothing more than provisions at least. + Them at the mobile late at the time they were drawn. the Laws of the State Exempts Certain property  + provisions for the benefit of the family which are not liable to any legal process whatsoever. Unless there are some steps taken for the negroes to have their Corn given up to them they will be reduced to peonage, or starvation at once. I think it would help the cause very much to appoint one man in every Beat, to hear contracts made + see them settled and his decision to be final, and no a/e allowed except for provisions if furnished by the employer
