I have just received two letters, one from Gen Mead and the other from Governor Patten by the hands of Dr. Peter Brice of Tuscaloosa, Ala. Please put the asylum in repair, that is the portion of it devoted to the use of colored patients. This will include the construction of a fence around the portion where the patients are to go in and out. From any beds, bedding, or hospital furniture you may have on hand in Alabama, which can be spared, you may supply this asylum, keeping a careful record of every article. If you cannot spare the
