Sub. District of Mobile Office Bureau of R.F. and AL. Mobile. Ala. March 20" 1868. Assistant Commissioner State of Alabama. Sir: The enclosed recommendation of Chief Surgeon Gray on letter of Dr Stephen Moore of Baldwin County, in reference to establishing a Dispensary in said county, is herewith returned with my views as to the necessities of the case. I, do not think it advisable to establish a dispensary with medical and hospital supplies; but I would suggest and request that Dr Moore be employed at a salary, not exceeding $50 per month, to attend to such Bureau business, medical, and otherwise, as may be necessary in Baldwin County. Before receiving the paper from Montgomery I had received a communication from Dr Moore on the same subject, and herewith forward it, enclosing an order, dated a year ago, appointing him Bureau agent under this office.
