Office of S.A.C. Huntsville May 9th 1868 Harper R.D. Sup. of Education. States that schools at places specified in special order No. 46 are in good condition. School buildings very poor & inadequate. Particularly at Huntsville. Finds that $950. has been expended for school buildings at Huntsville. Recommends an appropriation of $4.000 for erection of a good school building at this point. States that desks & black-boards are urgently needed at Huntsville & Athens; and recommends that the S.A. Comr at Huntsville be authorized to purchase them as specified.
