Dear Sir;-
Your circular of the 29th ult. - directed to me as Probate Judge of St. Clair County, making enquiries concerning "want of employment and consequent suffering" of the people of this County, has ben recd. - I am not the Probate Judge of this County - nor has the Co. such an officer. I was removed on the 30th Novr. 1867 - without cause, and my successor is unable to take the oath of office - hence the vacancy. -
