failure in crops, and want of uniformity in prices agricultural has been very unprofitable The colored man is in no better condition now than he was two years ago. The Hospital Bureau RF and AL at this place provides food medicine clothing &c for Ten (10) men Twenty one (21) women and Ten (10) children. Owing to the financial condition of the county we cannot expect any assistance from that source. From necessity and want of confidence many will discontinue farming which will lessen the demand for labor and increase destitution to such a fearful extent that humanity will demand relief from our Govt. The former condition of colored men being a preventative to enlightenment is not only void of confidence but is frequently passed of superstition and frequently for want of knowledge and advise would often commit himself. Being endowed with natural instinct of respect to the Govt. he happily submits at all times to advise and actions of Officers of Freedmens Bureau
