Monroeville,
Jan. 7th, 1868 --

Maj. S. C. Green,
D'r Sir:
Your letter of the 29th ult., is to hand this day - I have for some time past felt a considerable interest in the matter therein referred to - the demand for labor in this country seems to be as great as it was at this time in the year '67, but at the same time, I see and hear of a great many persons who are yet out of employment, and who, if they can not get employment, must consequently suffer for the necessaries of life -- I am not at present prepared to suggest any measures for their relief -
I am your obd't serv't,
M.M'Corvey,
Judge of Probate,
Monroe Ala. --
