Blountsville Jan. 15th 1868

Maj S. C. Green
Montgomery, Ala.

Sir,

Your circular dated Headquarters Montgomery, Ala. Dec 29th 1867. is just recd. & in answer I have the honor to state from a very thorough knowledge of the condition of the county of Blount that there is not the remotest probability of any suffering resulting from the causes you allude to. There is plenty of provision in the County & a demand for all the labor within its borders at remunerative prices, those who are idle in Blount, are so from choice, corn is only worth 50 cents per bushel, and the prospect of provisions being furnished gratis would have a tendency to demoralize the classes who would probably be the beneficiaries, hoping that no money will be
mis-appropriated for this County-

I have the honor to be
Very respectfully
J W Moore Probate Judge.
