Lieutenant:
I have the honor to state that Mr. W.T. Ball, of Conecuh Co. Ala - has related to me, that Neil S. McIntosh, a Soldier of the War of 1812, aged Eighty (80) years - is suffering the most abject destitution in the above mentioned county - that he has applied to the Judge of Probate, for assistance, and can obtain none - (There is no poor house in Conecuh Co.)

He desires that the Commanding General be made acquainted with the above facts, with a view to the adoption of some means for his comfort and support.

I am, Lieutenant,
Very Respectfully,
Your obt Servt.
