Refer to Supt of Education Office Supt Education, Bureau &c Montgomery June 3rd 1868 Respectfully returned to Office Asst Comr, State of Ala. The school at Talladega seems to be and in fact is tending toward denominationalism, under supervision of Rev H E Brown; its influence being to further the interests of the Congregationalist Church, they having organized a church in connection with the school. and this, has been done while Govt has been assisting them wholly with the idea of establishing a Normal school for the education of teachers for the Colored people of this State.
