In compliance with an endorsement from A.A.A. General, Bureau R.F. and A.L. dated Montgomery March 30th 1868. I visited Bain County in April, to secure an act of $198. against David C. Moore of said County, in favor of Freedmen in Green County Georgia.

The only property that I could find in the possession of Mr Moore was a retail Confectionery Store; the entire goods in said store, amounted to $180, most of which was perishable articles. I induced Mr. Moore to secure me for the amount ($198) to be paid on the 16th inst; and protect his securities with said stock of Confectioneries. Owing to the great quantity of rain, I was unable to visit Bain County on the day the note fell due. On the 23d inst I again
