States that a certain building in Athens Ala. owned by Fr. Sulzner and occupied as Freedmen's school was, from about 5th April 1865 until about 1st Nov. 1867, reported and held by Sub-Asst Comr BRF & AL as abandoned property; that during that time, said report was not alleged to be erroneous; nor was any claim set up for rent; that in Nov last, it was restored to owner in accordance with an order, copy enclosed, since which time rent is justly due; that in the judgment of the Sub-Ass't Comr the care and improvement of the property is sufficient compensation for its use prior to Nov. 1867.
