Mrs. W W Hammil, Clerk B.R.F. A.L. Ala. having tendered his resignation I have the honor to apply for the revocation of his appointment to date. April 30th, 1868. and to request the appointment of Mr. H.R. Walter (late Sergt Maj. 33 U.S.S. Infy) as clerk to file the vacancy at a salary of One Hundred dollars ($100) per month to day, May 1, 1868.

The urgency of this case required Mr. Walter to be ordered on duty at once.
