4th "Contracts"

Fifty (50) Contracts have been presented at this office for examination. Careful attention has been given to the obligations contained therein, and in explaining the same to the Laborers. Most of these contracts were made on the "blank form" furnished by this Bureau and have met the approval of both Employer and Laborers.

5th "Assault & battery" on Freedmen by white persons

Six (6) Complaints of this nature have been made at this Office by Freedmen. All of which have been referred to the proper "Civil Officer", with instructions to take immediate action, which was in all cases heard from - promptly complied with.

6th "Applications for revocation of Apprenticeship"

Four (4) of these applications have been made at this Office by Freedmen. The same were referred to the several Judges of Probate with instructions to take immediate action as per General Order No 3 Hd Qrs Dist of Ala series of 1867

7th "Issue of Rations"

Supplies of Meal and Meat has been issued during the month to Five hundred and five (505) white and to Nine hundred and ninety six (996) Colored persons.

8th "Soup Kitchens"

Through this manner Relief is being furnished - daily - to One hundred and ninety one persons One hundred (100) white and Ninety on (91) colored.
