Your Circular dated 29" Dec 1867 & maild 12 Jay 1868. desiring information as to the Actual Existence & probable future as to want of Employment & Consequent suffering, Rec'd which I hasten to answer:
From the best information I can obtain, most of able bodied persons of both sexes can find Employment for which they Can procure Reasonable wages. There many with large families that are trying to make a support, but on account of the number in the family will not be able to get Employment. Unless upon Rented lands: Such with some assistance this year might hereafter provide a support.
There are many women (having no husbands) but with a number of children, who will not be able to support them without some assistance
