Selma Alabama January 29th, 1869 Bv't. Lieut. Col. E. Beecher, Ass't. Comm'r. Bu &c Montgomery, Ala. Colonel: At the request of Green Phillips, late of the U.S.C. Troops, I have the honor to request that his certificate of discharge from service be sent him at this place. It was neglected to be delivered to him with his bounty, and was transferred with the records of the Office of the Sub-Asst, Comr. Bu &c Sub-Dist of Selma, to Chief Q.M. for Ala. I have advised Green Phillips that he can get said certificate by calling at office of Mr. Jo's H. Seare, of this city in case I am not here. Very Respectfully Your Ob't. Serv't. Chas C. Bartlett
