I am directed by Brevet Major=General O.O. Howard, U.S.A., Commissioner, &c., to enclose herewith, for delivery to him, the discharge of George Baker late a Private Co. "G", 17th Regt U.S.C Infantry together with letter from the Second Auditor of the Treasury, reporting adversely on his claim for Bounty

The last known Post=office address of the claimant is Athens Limestone Co. Ala.

Please date and sign the accompanying form of receipt for discharge certificate, &c., and return same to this Office.
Claim forwarded by J.H.W. Mills, Esq, late Agent &c at Athens, Ala.
