No more tomatoes for us. They are still in the market but at a price too high. They were very cheap till that cold wave. The crop of avocadoes is large this year & will be increasing each year, as more acreage comes into bearing   Some times I can get two for 15 cents when they are dead ripe & they want to get rid of them   Aletta Clark told me when she was out here that prices out here on fruits were as high as there.. I dont see where she could have shopped. I thought prices there were awful. Of course there are places here where they deliver and cater to the wealthy where they charge high prices but there are hundreds of places where you carry your purchases home & pay very little. Now that we have no car I am glad we live near the markets. Egbert is working to-day and has another day of it but it will take all he earns to buy the colsomine [[kalsomine]] brush he had to get. They cost so much. He has a prospect of two homes to paint in the neighborhood but the owners are short
