Dear Doris,

I've written so much to Sidney my breath has given out & I cant write much to you though I should, for you always write [[strikethrough]] a [[/strikethrough]] longer letter than Sidney.

You ask about our winter, we've had an unusually nice winter. one cold rain in Jan with snow in the mts, was just what we needed but the rain fall is below normal. Everything is green though & good crops. You go to bed about the time we do. "Early to bed & early to rise" is our motto though "healthy, wealthy & wise" do not always follow we find. About Ralph. do not blame him. He does not want to eat all that stuff nor have things so rich but what Maude says & what she wants & decides is best, is what decides everything.

Hope we'll see little Dot & the rest of you some day

Love
Mary.
