Dear Sidney,

Yours of March 2 received and will answer it quite promptly though I dont suppose you would notice it if I did not write for a long time.

You tell me of your symptoms my poor child but what can I do about it except to give you advice of which Doris will disapprove and which you will not heed. I will however tell you one unpleasant truth and that is you have nothing on Ralph in the matter of diet; its just as injurious to dose yourself with peppers & vinegar & mustard & spices & Worcestershire sauce as it is to overeat & you'll certainly pay for it sometime. Diet is no longer a matter of opinion

are other causes for it but your rheumatic pains are due to an infection somewhere. I feel suspcicious of your teeth, you might have some streptocci floating and left from your tonsils though. It is sometimes from the intestines [[strikethrough]] that is [[/strikethrough]] There are various nooks & crannies that could be a foci of infection. No charge - you are entirely welcome but better not read all this to Doris. She will have a fit. That shows how far reaching & long lasting Mrs Eddy's pernicious influence can [[strikethrough]] extend [[/strikethrough]] be - down to the third generation. I've no doubt Dot is a very bright child, why should'nt she be but she'll develop her little brain plenty fast enough without your egging her on poor little thing.
