My Dear Friend, Mr. Hartman
your wellcom letter came to me last evening. I found many all night. everything is all right here. expecting our diging over Kelseyville. I got letter from Elgin Friday saying that I was to be arrested for taking the grave of Ikes sister or pay Ike one hundred dollars. I wrote to Grace about it and enclosed the letter of Elgin with it and sent it to santa [[?]]. and wrote Elgin the same time teling him to tel Ike if we made a mistake that we would make it all right or send the baner back. you know at time I said I thought it was Ikes sister and I also told Elgin to tel the old man not to feel bad. That we did not mean to do him any harm or any one else and that I did not know that sister was buried there but I know my uncle was buried there and I the rights to take the remains this man.
