Dear folks, 

We have not been up to Chicago lately, tho' I guess Jack's mother did expect us (we spoke with her on the phone later). Jack's orals are not until next Tuesday, and on Wednesday he has a quantum mechanics hourly which he fears, so one more weekend will be spent in concentrated study. 

The Finks were going to throw us a party this weekend, to doubly celebrate the qualifying written pass and Myron's going into the Army (not so much to celebrate about, these dangerous days) in two weeks, but yesterday Bonnie found she had to have a lump removed from a gland in her neck at once, namely, Saturday, so no party. Fortunately her student insurance will pay over half, but it is a fairly delicate (6 days in hospital) operation, so we are feeling sorry for her. [[strikethrough]] tho It [[/strikethrough]] The lump isn't near enough to her voice box to threaten her voice, fortunately (since she is a career singer).
