Dear folks,

We are sorry to hear about Marion. [[strikethrough]] Jack will have something to say about it later. [[/strikethrough]]

We must be having still cooler weather than you people are, for I wear a sweater almost every day early in the morning leaving and always sleep with a blanket. It is very rainy here too.One of the men in the office is building this summer, and he is dreadfully annoyed with the weather. I guess when we come to Washington things won't be too bad.

Last week end we stayed rather quietly at home, though we did go to see "Moby Dick", which I thought very good, Jack not quite so enthusiastic. Would you mind seeing whether or not my copy of Moby Dick is available [[strikethrough]] 3/4 [[/strikethrough]]? We would both like to reread it during vacation; he will bring his copy, and I will bring mine. Mine might be in Chicago. Jack worked on his model boat (the only one) and has just finished it. We will probably take it out for a test run tonight before dusk. We ran it before it was completed and it ran o.k. so it still should, but better because a rudder has been added. This has been Jack's best relaxation against the double chore of work days and exam study nights.

The last week of classes looms near. The dear instructor is giving an hour exam next Wednesday and the final Friday. I may have to take a day off (Thursday) to prepare for that. So far I
