Dear Folks:

I am writing this simultaneous with Doris' typing her half. We are producing this letter by assembly line methods to be sure it will arrive soon enough to satisfy you. 

I am prompted to add something for two reasons. First, your advice to Doris to pressure me into stopping smoking has arrived too late. I stopped some time in May. Lucky that it didn't arrive in time, or Doris' efforts might have prompted me to keep on puffing. 

Second, the other day I picked up a copy of the "Saturday Evening Post" (in the Physics library, believe it or not), attracted by an article on home-repair & improvement
