Dear folks,

Jack has just come home from his last final. Out of his three courses he has so far gotten two A's and a pretty sure B in this last course. Plus passed the French qualification exam. We are happy about the semester, as you may guess.

A little trouble with the car which jack must try to handle this afternoon, something with the timing we think. We have to get it in shape before Friday night, at which time we take off for Chicago.

We have been looking forward to this trip for some time. We'll pick up our stainless (set for four, five pieces to each setting) this Saturday and I plan to pick up a few odds and ends in the stores too for summer clothes. Jack's mother finishes her school at 2 on Saturday and will take us to lunch. We'd like to visit the beach in the afternoon, and our friends the Davises want us to go to the [[strikethrough]] beac [[/strikethrough]] zoo with them one of those two days. Also we have other people to see. Big time. 

Very busy day in the office. I don't see how I will get time to say much more. Tonight we have to go to the grocery store and prepare for the trip tomorrow night, also visit some people -- the Leondises, where I am going to borrow their hair cutter and cut Jack's hair. We are saving green stamps for an electric hair cutter and almost have it, so that Jack hates to pay for another haircut. I cut it once already on someone else's hair-cutter and found it a pleasant operation, so that I b
